        I suspect because it's so different from the current paradigm that
it'd require a major push from a company with substantial resources
behind it--look at the reception Macintosh got, with letters to Byte
that asked "Since it uses icons and pictures like the cave paintings in
France doesn't that mean it's better suited to the pre-literate?"
Canon *might* have gotten away with it--but they sold it for $1495.00
and only through the typewriter division where damn few people had
computer experience and understood exactly what that odd looking thing
was...
