One of my newtons have been on pretty much 24/7 for at least a year or so
and so far it is still working. I was at one time thinking about hacking a
switch in it to turn the LCD on or off but I doubt I will ever do it. I
leave my newt on 24/7 for the thing that sold me on getting a newton. That
is the NPDS webserver. I think the newt makes a great web server.
