Hi Sonny,
using a "Y" serial cable you will able to use only one serial
connection at a time, then it will need to have one of the two 8din
ports phisically disconnected to be functional. Instead with a
integrated serial switch you will not have this problem.
If you want to buy a mac serial switch there are a bunch of them on
sale on eBay every week at a cheap price.
Windows friendly DB9 switches are not so cheap though.

Hi List,
Does anyone know of a Din 8 'Y' plug? to connect two Din 8 items to
one Din 8 Port? if you have one please contact me off list I'm in need
of one at a reasonable price. If you have a spare to discard I'd
gladly pay shipping also. This is for some testing I'm doing and would
alleviate plugging an unplugging of cables which could wear out my Din
8 port... for Newton.
Thanks! :)
