The usual culrpit is that your Newton is holding the infrared port open,
waiting for another Newton to connect. You can check and/or fix this by:
-Opening the In/Out Box
-Tapping i->Beam Prefs
-Look at the first setting, 'Receive beams automatically'. Make sure it is
UNchecked.
