Though I have to say I'm sorely tried seeing my ebooks gather digital=20
dust in some places... But that may just be because nobody out there=20
cares the least bit about new content, or good books is something else=20=
for everybody or whatever. Probably mostly whatever. Demand and supply,=20=
my man, demand and supply, maybe some horses can't be forced to drink.
But that ain't anywhere as irritating as getting told tall tales and=20
granted generous geniosity, and when I ask people to get back to me re:=20=
the offers they made to me (voluntarily and out of their own free will,=20=
mind ye!) they don't reply a single syllable over months and months and=20=
months and months, even when I ask in the end just why exactly I'm=20
given the silent treatment.
Amusing or disappointing? The jury is still out on that one. But I've=20
heard that in some cultures treatment like this is considered very=20
impolite.
> and I am exercising all of my self-restraint
Fortunately, I can make-believe I have self-restraint and suggest to=20
myself I don't have to burst into flames. But I think my forehead is=20
pretty hot right now...

Son, didn't I tell you cough syrup and vodka don't mix well in public!?=20=

Actually, that was a threat I'd been thinking about last week, too...=20
Only releasing one title if I see another new title pop up in public=20
first... But then, I have sooo much to give. Hmh, am I the Barry White=20=
of Newton eBooks? I'd rather be the Curtis Mayfield. Or the Joe=20
Strummer. Or DeeDee Ramone, just not in dead. Anyway, I got so much=20
love and books to give, it'd break my heart to act like that, honestly.
> -- Or at least until I need a break from doing drywall repair and=20

Yeah, and I got a boat to overhaul, a car to build and a private life=20
to lead. Actually I don't have much time to worry about people giving=20
me the funny treatment. --
To close with an upward note:
I'd like to thank Matthew Reidsma, a Generous One of Newtonia, for his=20=
kind help in providing a home for the Temporary Newton Library on very=20=
short notice last December. Matthew is moving house soon and will have=20=
to take the servers down (until then, get it while U can:=20
http://www.matthewreidsma.com/~ebooks ) , so I'm investigating=20
alternative options or mirrors, preferably somewhere like=20
dev.newtontalk.net or somethingoranother.unna.org . Any support=20
appreciated. -- And a big hand for our Mr. Reidsma, please! Thanks,=20
Matt, that was very kind, of you. That's your applause -- and best of=20
luck for the move!
Best wishes,
D.
