It's your call: if you don't think the software's worth $50, don't buy
it and don't use it. Real simple. Optionally, you can try to talk the
seller down in price. The only thing you CANNOT do is use software that
someone still sells without paying for it, or violate the terms of any
license you agreed to to obtain the software or use it.

Fifty dollars for "unsupported" software that provides fifty dollars of
entertainment or function is a far better deal than twenty dollars for
software for a platform I'm not interested in.
