I for one am keen to hold off buying a G5 until the intels come out and prove themselves.
In the meantime, to fill the 2 or so year gap, I'm keen to either internally upgrade my G4 450MHz to 1.3GHz or try to buy one of the last dual 1.2 or 1.4 'Mirror Double Door' G4s. As I understand it the last and fastest of the native OS 9 machines. Not just for NCU you understand but for all that other legacy stuff. Future plan is to keep it and newtork it to the Mactel.
These MDDs have become like gold dust and are going for silly money on ebay. I think there are a lot of people out there with the same plan!
I'm confident that OSX-Newton connectivity will mature in that time, but there are so many other good reasons to stick with an OS 9 native machine. (Cubase and all my precious plugins for several!)

Jon
