Greetings,
I just got a wireless cared (whee!) and have tested it and used it
and it seems to work. I had it running last night, sent some email,
received some email, read a few web pages while sitting around the
house. Neat!
Then something went wrong. I can get online... but then I can't
resolve any internet address. In SimpleMail, I can't connect to my
email host. In Newtscape, I get an NIE error of some sort (the text
is cut off, so I can't read it well). In Courier, nothing happens.
My question: Is this a DNS problem? Is this an internet setup
problem? I can't imagine what changed along the way from it working
to not working, last night.
Today, when I connected via my ethernet card to my desktop, I was
able to run the Dock and NCU just fine. I backed up, etc. So some
aspect of networking is working.
In going through this, I was reminded that I once had a package whose
sole purpose was to get me online. No other program was attached. It
just established an internet connection. Does anyone know what this
package might be?
Michael
