Yes, thanks for the helping hand.
Turns out the battery pack I have is totally shot. I opened up the
shrinkwrap to look and see what the batteries looked like and they had
completely disintegrated with all kinds of corrosive discharge mold/
powder coming out the ends. I'm just going to rebuild it. Thanks again
for your suggestions.
