Hi,
maybe the previous owner soldered the jacks
where the audio lines takes place on mainboard.
Could you please post some photos of the dongle?

Greetings,
After five years with my old MP130, it's been starting to give
up the ghost lately, so I snagged a pair of MP 130's for $15 a piece
including stylus. However, these newtons are different than any other
newton I've ever seen. The internal speaker has been disabled, and
coming out of the back is a dongle with two minijacks in it, both of
which provide the mono sound out that would be coming from the
internal speaker. I have never seen this before and am wondering if
anyone knows of this type of thing. The fellow I bought the newtons
from also offered a newton lanyard.
Was there ever an application that required audio out on the
newton? I don't believe the audio on the newton mp 130's was terribly
powerful, and don't know of what use this would be. Any help would be
appreciated.
