It would of course be possible, but I'd rather
not publish this kind of information. I know
how arrogant this must sound, but I'd rather
decide myself whether this is justified, based
on sufficient proof of legal ownership of the
software in question. Making this kind of
info available to everyone would mean that
everybody capable of operating a soldering iron
would be able to transfer a software from a Newton
of unknown origin to any Newton he wants.

For the same reason I do not normally tell people
how to get around a "forgotton" PIN. You wouldn't
believe how many people have asked me this question
over time. Often claiming to be utterly uninterested
in the Newton's current content ("all I want to be able
to is use it again..."), but seeming amazingly unwilling to
perform a brainwipe...
