My gut feeling is that anyone with the necessary skills to do the
sorts of things you mention are either:

1. Already doing them, or
2. Unable to do them due to time constraints

For example, I've been meaning to build a Universal Binary version of
NewTen for months. I will get there eventually. :)

After having my main Newton partially recover from jaggies to a point
of being usable again, I'm back on the wagon, and seeing if I can
"live" on it for a month or so, in terms of calendaring and project
tracking. So far, so good. I'm even planning to take it to WWDC
with me to use as a notepad, and maybe raise a few eyebrows.

I will say one thing, Blunt and a compatible Bluetooth card is
probably the single most useful thing a modern day Newton user can
add to their 2x00. Being able to install packages wirelessly
(without the massive power drain of WiFi), and transfer notes back
and forth with a desktop computer as plain text opens up whole new
realms of usefulness. It's fantastic.

In fact, I just realized I've never donated anything to Eckhart for
his wonderful contribution, and I think I will go do so now.
