Well, I didn't expect such a prompt reply. From what I've read in the
FAQ, it looks like IRDA transfer is not possible on Windows. I don't
have a cable to connect it to my computer, so that's out.

I'm wondering if I can set up a null-modem connection to my computer for
file transfers without having any special software already loaded on the
MessagePad. I didn't see anything regarding this in the FAQ. I can
probably get access to a PCMCIA Ethernet card, but I don't have any way
of installing drivers for it. Am I in a situation where the only real
option is to buy a serial cable?
