A null modem connection or a modem connection? Either way, no. The
Newton, with nothing installed, uses a unique communications protocol
out the serial ports that you can get at with the Dock app. Your
choices (for now) are to get a "dongle" and cable, use a serial port
PCMCIA card (like those made by Socket), or ask someone to send you a
memory card loaded up with the apps you need to get on the air with
an ether card .
