You got to consider that the technically most advanced web browser for
the Newton is contained in the Luna Suite.

Correct me if I'm wrong, folks, but the Luna Suite is a beta - surely it
behaved like that when I tested it. WikiWikiNewt calls it "fairly buggy
and crash prone".

Moreover, It can't do anything beyound frames and
tables (which was taxing my 2100's hardware to the limit). I couldn't
do anything useful with it. The best "browsing" experience I got was
with Newtscape. But to be honest, there wasn't much browsing involved.
I could read the website of a newspaper which still features a low tech
department for older devices and browsers and I was able once to send
a test posting to my blog (German only, sorry):

Let's face it, the 2100 and the web could have been a success story,
but they weren't and most probably will never be. Mail is ok, anything else
is a drag in my opinion. Maybe with Einstein it'll be a different story. In
case you don't know about Einstein, Stephen, look here:

You ask for tips to improve the web performance of a 2100. There used to
be a speed boosting implant which cranks up the Newts processor speed
to 220 Mhz. Does this improve the rendering of websites with Newtscape
and Luna Suite? I don't know, but others on the list should.
Don't be dishearted. Myself a latecomer, I've been using my two 2100s
for more than two and my eMate for more than half a year now. The
more I use them, the more I like them. Enjoy!
Best,
Marcus
