[NTLK] smtp w/ ssl + auth

Hello,
I've been playing with getting the newt's mailing features going with
simple mail and run into an annoying snag.

The SMTP server I'd LIKE to use requires ssl.

is there any way to do smtp with ssl and authentication?

on a vaguely related note:
does anyone know of an ssh client for the newton?

i'm a little worried that ssl and ssh might be too proc-heavy for the
little beastie.
