I did that. I also set it to 1, and I tried .11b rates only on all
three channels, and it still insists on joining my neighbor's WLAN.
However, when I was squatting at .11b rates on 6, it took longer to
join his network. I'm going to speculate at this point that the card
doesn't like my WAP (Apple Airport Extreme). I'll have to dig out my
old .11b WAP and test against it. I'll also try updating the card
firmware; I have the latest, but no machine to upgrade it with.
