I use newtVNC somewhat regularly with OsXVNC 1.6.1... I wouldn't
expect 1.71 to break anything.

Have you made certain that any firewalls in between the two (OS X
firewall, wifi router's firewall) are set to permit the vnc service
through? (port 5900 for screen 0, 5901 for screen 1 etc.) Error
-16013 is "Connection aborted by disconnect", or so the errorinfo
package tells me.
