One thing that I'm afraid you will have to do is take care of
the hinge spring problem. Even though eMates are still very
attractive as a paperweight, they're much more fun if
you can use them for other things, too ;-)

Given the good condition your eMate's battery appears to be in, I
guess the machine hasn't seen much use, so your chances are good
that it'll be sufficient to take the hinges apart, clean and
re-lubricate them.
