Leander is stringing together a handful of UNRELATED things.
1) That Apple patent on multi-point touch screen interfaces. Woo. Yay. Big
tech companies patent all kinds of stuff all the time. Doesn't mean that
there's a *product* behind it.
2) Looks like some NYU guys did a similar thing, and made some nice demo
videos. They happened to use OS X. Coincidence.
3) Throw those into the rumour mill and you get - HI-TEK APPLE TABLET D00DZ!!!
I don't think Apple is going to be making a tablet PC. They've got a good
thing going with millions of people shelling out lots of money for
incremental hardware and software updates since 1998.
Remember, a corporation's ultimate responsibility is to its shareholders, and
shareholders want to make money. New funky interfaces are not required to
make money. A good business model like the paragraph above, though...
