Another area of work to take place is working on a replacement for the
aging Newton Toolkit (NTK) development environment. It currently runs
under OS 9 or Classic on the Mac and with the advent of Intel-based
Macs, Classic is definitely DOA.
As is common in the Newton community, hope springs eternal...
Paul has been working on a cross-platform, open source NewtonScript
compiler and interpreter with Japanese developer Makoto Nukui (Gnue).
Newt/0 will theroretically work under MacOS X, Linux and Windows as a
potential replacement for NTK. Other folks you may know from this list
are also looking to be involved with the project.
