Woody and all who might read this;
I took Woody's advice and made sure I had a complete and absolutely
clean install of the correct drivers and all the Newton Internet stuff.
No cigar.
With the DHCP setting, I got an error message "Problem connecting.
DHCP server unavailable or unable to configure this device."
Then I started playing around with the setup, and created a manual
version with all the numbers blank except the primary dns address,
which I supplied.
Suddenly the Newton zipped through the handshaking, balking on (I was
in Simplemail) the resolution with the mail server (Couldn't resolve
the IP address pop3.knology.net).
I get a similar message when I tried any browser. Couldn't resolve.
What's next?
Thanks in advance,
Jim
