Re: [NTLK] OMP Battery Cage, series, parallel or both?

Thanks, now can you give some examples of the "great" and "smart-battery"
systems, I'll Google of course, but just to make sure I'm on the right
track...

Also, I found a multitude of battery testers, they mostly look like junk...
Red and green for I'm guessing good or bad. Not hardly the type of
instrument needed to "measure" the batteries. Are you using an ohm meter?

Looking at online reviews, the Maha is a good charger, can't get much info
on the Lenmar.
A basic charger is just a transformer, rectifier, diode and resistor.
You charge it for a few hours, but have to remember to take it off charge. A
decent charger has a timer circuit which switches the charging into a low
current "trickle charge". A good charger has "-dV"
(negative-delta-V) which is a microprocessor detected change in cell
voltage(ie, it drops after the "bulk" charge portion of the charging
cycle) which then activates trickle charging. A great charger can calculate
capacity and perform reconditioning and rejuvenation of cells. Even batter
are the "Smart-Battery" systems which have ID chips which calculate how much
charge has been used since the last charge, etc.
