I think this more along the right lines. The Newton assistant manages
the complexity for you whereas BumpTop just restates the existing UI
paradigm in a different form.

We need tools that make sense of our thousands of files and act
appropriately rather than leaving us to manipulate them directly.
Only the Newton has the faintest sense of what it is I wish to
achieve and despite it's much greater power and complexity, the Mac
has no clue as to what I am doing or why, hence the apparent need for
ever fancier ways for us to do it's work for it.

After 20 years, the Mac, and all the rest of the PCs, are as
insensible as they ever were.
