Joshua,
I've run NCU on a P4, 3.8GH, 4G RAM system, XP + SP2.
For me to use NCU, I have to run 3 instances of slowdown.
Are you only trying with one?
My Thinkpad is a 2.2GH and I find I have to run 2 instances of slowdown on
it.
Hope that helps.
Marty

Subject: [NTLK] NCU $#@!
I'm experiencing a high level of frustration with NCU. Any time I try to
install anything of any size onto my 2100 NCU craps out midway. I have
enough space on the newt and I'm using slowdown.exe at various settings, but
I cannot get, say, Works, to install. I'm trying to install dictionaries and
other largeish applications and this is driving me crazy. Is this my fault
for having too fast a machine? I'm running a Sempron 2800+ (1.99GHz) with
768MB RAM. I actually semed to have better luck when I had 256 RAM
installed...
1. Is there an alternative to NCU + slowdown?
2. Does anyone have any advice?
