Hello,
I am excited to learn that next year I will be in a new job in a new
location. I will be the technology integration specialist for grades 3-5. I
am looking for your advice.
Up until now, I've always had a lab of Macintosh computers and my home
computers are Macs. I have certainly used Windows-based machines, and I do
nomimal upkeep work on my parents' Windows computers so I can successfully
install applications, use applications, navigate. However, now I will be
teaching all day in a Windows lab. Thankfully, we have a tech department so
I will not be the primary person fixing machines, and I know they have the
systems ghosted so they can be up and running again quickly when they are
down. Most of my tech outcomes will have us using Microsoft products such as
Word and Publisher, or graphics programs such as Photoshop Elements. With
the exception of Publisher, I am already comfortable teaching these
programs.

What I am asking of EdTech is, what advice do you have for me as I make this
transition? Are there must have books or reference mauals? What are your
best trouble-shooting sites and other references as I make this change to
Windows.
Thank you for any advice you can give me.
