[NTLK] emate repairs

hope you are still reading.
I am helping a fellow emate user with hinge repair and newer tech ram
upgrade and it isn't looking good.
before starting I noticed a vertical line of dead pixels so I
immediately disassembled without moving the lid again. There was no
damage to the ribbon due to the hinges. I continued with re-greasing
and washer installation. I cleaned all ribbon ends and reassembled.
The dead pixels remained, any ideas?

after installing ram upgrade I only got flashing backlight again any
ideas?
