Hey! I don't have an internet addiction!
Just because I sometimes, wake up face down on my keyboard, the screen displaying what can only be the next great novel (and I'm not even writing one...while I'm awake) when viewed through my groggy eyes, and when I look in the mirror, there is a distinct keyboard impression embossed in my skin from my chin to my ear...(that little bump on the "J" key hurts!) don't mean I'm addicted! I can quit anytime! Just because I don't go anywhere withough my blackberry or my 802.11b capable Newton and my Canary Wireless Hotspotter...doesn't mean that this stuff is important!
Or that I don't mind paying almost $300/month HOA fee because that includes a 100mbps Fiber to the basement internet connection! And I'm seriously mulling over the idea of vehicle to vehicle, peer to peer filesharing while cruising down the highway at 65mph! And hey! my house is wired for cameras and they are connected to the internet and I have a picture of every face that has shown up at my door (I can recognize my UPS delivery man at the grocery store and I've never met him!)
On topic? OK...I'm not addicted to the internet...I will gladly admit my addiction, and proudly...it is my Newton....
Ray Kurtzweil (of Kurtzweil keyboards fame) has a group called the Singularity (I'l leave that lookup as an exercize to the reader...I'm not the one addicted to the internet) that postulates on the future of the mechanical/electrical evolution of the human being. There is great consternation amoungst the doubters that such a melding will never happen...I say that it already has. With my Newt at my side for the last dozen or so years now, I can go back to the early 90s and retreive a meeting note, or a list of songs I liked with a simple search...it's all there for me to grab.
My only complaint is that while the interface is easy and intuitive, it needs to be easier and innocuous. And the data needs to be arranged in a manner that is easier to assemble into what the human brain is better at than an electrical brain...pattern recognition.
If someone can use the Newton ToolKit to assemble an application that replicates the spacial storage that the human brain requires for pattern recognition, then the Newt would be the perfect machine...a machine to hand down to progeny to jumpstart their learning...there's no reason everybody needs to relearn what someone before them already learned!

Here you go. I stuck everything on my server and whipped up a quick ASP

Pay careful attention to the instructions I wrote at the top of the page.

It is on UNNA but under the name of WinNTK here is a link:

It is a zip file, it does work, and if that link gives you issues, let me
know and I'll Email it to you. It is a 5.5mb file.

I thought that UNNA at least would make the process as simple and as easy as
possible, to ENCOURAGE others to take up programming. Somebody PLEASE send
me a link to a working, simple and easy to unzip, folder of the bare
neccessity Newton SDK and documentation, for God's sake.
