The idea is to write 50,000 words in 30 days. If you can actually write
all 30 days, then you're looking at roughly 1,667 words per day. For
some, it's nearly impossible. Then you get the verbose gits like me, who
managed 100K words two years running.

Also, while a number of people have actually managed to publish their
work from that month, the real idea is to get you used to the idea that
you CAN write on a deadline. One of their mottos is "Quantity, not
quality".

It's a great deal of fun, and I've 'won' three years running, ever since
I started. (What do you win? The knowledge that you CAN write a novel of
50K words in a month, and the ability to display this really cute logo
declaring you a winner.)

Could you share more about this? url? or anything? I think I might know
