Thanks for pointing me to that URL. And I thought I had seen almost
any Newton page that is still up ;-).

I am currently using a Newton-to-9PinSubD cabel and a Keyspan adapter
to get to the Mac. That works well and is probably similar to what's
going on inside this adapter.

The idea of building my own little adapter comes from the following
ideas:
- avoid the SubD/Keyspan "Wurst" in the middle of my cable
- have a unique USB Device ID, so "iSync" knows that the Newton was
just connected
- use the USB power to keep the Newton charged

But I am in no rush. Should I stumble across the required parts and
find a little time, I'll try to put a prototype together.
