[NTLK] How to delete checklist items in Notes?

I've been using my relatively new (to me) Newt 2000 and have come upon a
question I haven't faound an answer to. How (or can) I delete individual
items from a checklist in Notes? I use lists a lot in general and I like
to be able to remove items sometimes after they've been completed. I can
delete the text but the checkbox is still there. I'd like to delete the
checkbox too...like the way you can remove to-do items in Dates. Is this
possible?
