Let's see. First, Jon, the subnet mask is when I'm using
the manual settings.

Matt - The whole deal looks like this, under Manual:

Subnet Mask:
Local IP Address:
Gateway / Router Address:
Primary DNS/Name Server Address
Domain Name: <None>

I've also tried as an IP (that would be sequential after the
two laptops in the house are assigned their IPs) .

Originally, I had nothing under Primary DNS / Name Server Address, then
decided to use after I saw it in the DNS section of the TCP/IP
tab of my PowerBook Network Settings.

Should I be doing more with DNS server addresses?
