This being the case, there is nothing preventing anyone from selling the
software. I paid good money for more than one Linux distro that was less
than useless. If, however, open source code is used in a project, then the
source code is required by GPL to be released, at least, that is how I
understand it. If it wasn't, then there are legal issues for Linus Torvalds
to tackle. I seriously doubt that he will, though.
