check the APN again, call your operator and ask. they should be able
to assist you.
also, i know ive been more successful when i used an option GT modem
if i added short pauses in the NIE script. i dont know why, but the
scrip became much more stable. you can probably try this too and see
if it will work better.

also, it can be an idea to alter the ATD*99# string to for example
ATD*99***2# , where the "2" stands for the cell phones second
internet account - the acc that you actually want to use. normally a
t610 for example will have a list of diffferent internet accounts.
these accounts are used for different things, such as SMS, MMS and
internet connection. if you match the ATD*99***x# number to the
internet account you want to use (start counting from the top: 1, 2,
3, 4...) it will most likely work.it did for me. (i had four
different acounts, i think that only the third was correct.)
now, if you use a UMTS/3G connection, the approach can be somewhat
different.
