For everyone following the thrilling saga of my Newton battery pack:

I left the 2100 plugged in for about 48 hours straight, and at some
point the battery started taking a charge. It now seems to be
working more-or-less normally again.

I don't like unresolved mysteries, but I'm happy it's working. Maybe
it was just the heat.

Or possibly solar flares. When in doubt, blame solar flares.
