Re: [NTLK] Pocket Chef-not quite but Digital Groumet is nice

While digging around in my archives today I came across Digital Gourmet.
It has a lots of recipes, the ability to add your own recipes and to
generate a shopping list. Not a bad app and it was released as freeware
a while back. I knew I had one but couldn't remember the name of it.

One of the things I didn't like about it was the lack of any
import/export ability (unless you use something like sloup). Also when
you remove the main package it does not offer the option to remove all
the data so you have to go to the storage folder of extras and delete
the two gourmet soups. This didn't bother me but you can't delete just
one one cookbook (to save space for example). You can delete one recipe
at a time but not a several unless you do a search then select and
delete. Also your recipes are stored in the same soup (unless you file
them to a different card, which is possible) as the rest so if you
delete that you loose any entered.

It comes with a different package for each "cookbook" but they are all
stored in the same soup:
Appetizers.pkg
Bartender.pkg
Deserts.pkg
International.pkg
Meats.pkg
Pasta.pkg
Salads.pkg
Seafood.pkg
Soups.pkg
Vegetables.pkg

From what I have read Pocket Chef has features, but this is a ok
cookbook. I think I would rather put my own recipes in the notepad than
this so I have more options later on (or create a cookbook database in
Filepad). But this is certainly worth a look if you are into cookbooks
and newtons. :)

Anyway if anyone wants a copy let me know off-list and I will send you a
 one.
