Sorry Norman, but you have been misinformed.
There is MySQL Community Server - completely free and open-source software,
totally unencumbered. Download any free Linux distribution now (eg. Fedora
Core) and this is what you get.
Then there is MySQL Enterprise - the commercial product which comes with
support and all kinds of other stuff, which you need a license for.
