Very good idea, I'd say.

Let me put it like this: writing with the eMate is such a pleasant
experience that I'd go to some lengths to transfer the text written.
In my case I'm mainly using IR and ethernet for this purpose, and
though I'm on WinXP, this works very well.
As I'm using both an eMate and a 2100, beaming back and forth between
them is of course no problem. Getting the text from the eMate to my
desktop machine works either via Ethernet or via beaming it to the
2100 first and then IRing it from the 2100 to the XP-Box. This requires
Nitro:

I have come to rely on beaming/IR for everyday use, because it's easy and
fast. When I actually need to sync with my desktop machine or to transfer
larger packages from the desktop to my 2100, I use ethernet (via the
Basilisk / NCU / ethernet approach).
Best,
Marcus
