One thing I forgot to mention, one brand of pen will always want you to
buy their brand of ink. However all inks are not created equal and you
might like one better than other. As long as it is for fountain pens,
it will work fine.

Another thing I would suggest: Get a pen that can take cartridges or
converter. Most good pens will come with the converter, but if it does
not, get one. Converters are not expensive (generally less then $12)
and will allow you to use bottle ink which is far cheaper than
cartridges. But cartridges are handier at times. Also converters are
great for cleaning pens as you can draw water up though the nib and push
it back out. This "plunging" action is FAR faster and more through than
just running the nib under running water.

As a final note http://www.levenger.com/ has a lot of good quality
supplies for those that like fountain pens and paper. But as much as I
love fountain pens....I still use my Newt far far more. ;)
