IF you could get specifications and exact dimensions of the Newton MessagePad, Sonny, you could possibly achieve the dream of making clear Newton housings. A recent article on the New York Times Technology page dicusses a new "three-dimensional" printer. The printer uses a halogen heat lamp and plastic pellets to create potentilly any three-dimensional plastic solid from a set of specifications. Theoretically, one will be able to choose from a selection of plastic colors and perhaps aomething close to clear will be available.
The funky "make it so" printer, made by Idea Factory, will cost $4,995. Presumably one could hire somebody or borrow their 3-D wonder printer.
