That's how it works and that's what's puzzling me about your question.

HyperNewt replaces (or enhances) the Notes app. Deleted Notes are just that: Deleted. Just like a Deleted ToDo or a Deleted Name... it's gone. You can't really hide them, only file them out of the way.

So... You will have to file it... somewhere. Consider filing it to an offline storage card. Yank out the card and it's gone.

Or, Export it to Works. Works files the document and HyperNewt links to it.

Also, you can encrypt (hide) a note with The Fish.

What I believe you want to do is not the way HyperNewt (or Notes or the Newton) was designed to work.
