Well, the Newton list on LowEndMac.com would not be controlled by us.
From time to time, all people subscribed to that list could receive
a message. That's why I think it might be better to create our own
emergency list. We have control over it and people can expect to get
messages from that list only when there is an outage with the main list.
There is really no downside. The list stays there, dormant. If an
outage is detected, I could post to the emergency list and then
everybody would know to post temporarily to that list until the main
list is functional again.
Since the main list is maintained by Grant, I'd like to have his take
on this. Maybe he'll want to manage that list himself. If not, I can
do it.
