ATA Support offers different partition schemes, one is to give you a 4MB one and the rest divided into thirds. I'm still curious as to why Paul offered this one. I will probably reformat the CF card for convenience, trying out the 4 equal partition scheme, or maybe just in thirds. I haven't decided yet. But, I will be able to restore what I erase

Couldn't tell you... At the point where I jumped into ATA, I was just looking for stability. I have found that and just happen to have a stopwatch.
ATA is now a very integral part of my Newton. The speed for non data intensive applications is fine for my use.
