Sometimes a "dead" eMate battery can be revived by doing a hard
reset. Press (but do not hold) the reset button on the bottom of the
eMate & then within a few seconds of doing that, press and hold down
the power button until you see the Do you want to erase all data
screen. Tap on No and your eMate will reboot. This gets the
recharging cycle going again & hopefully it will charge from there.
If not, try it again a few times before throwing in the towel &
getting a rebuild.

You could also build yourself a battery tray by following the
instructions at:

A friend had an eMate that would only work when plugged in. The battery
status said "Fault", so I looked in the archives and apparently someone
fixed this issue by plugging in their eMate for a couple of days.
This eMate
has been plugged in for three weeks and still reads "Fault" and won't
work
unplugged. Any help? Is it dead? Thanks in advance.
