[NTLK] New Hardware Possibilities

Believe it or not, there are new hardware items for the Apple II. One of my
most recent purchases was an expansion card that uses a CompactFlash card as
a "hard drive". And there are other things out there and on the horizon.
Thinking that guys that make new Apple II hardware might make new Newton
hardware, I asked one.

I asked him if he would be interested in doing the David Humphreys eMate
memory expansion (http://www.inventors-emporium.co.uk/pages/newton.html). He
sounded interested in doing that particular item, but did not want to step
on David's toes, and said he'd also need info on the ROM and associated
production coding to produce the expansion. Does anyone here know how to
contact David? Googling showed several (dead) email addresses for him.

I wonder if the internal memory could be easily bumped up beyond 4mb, as
someone here alluded to last week.

There are probably other things the Newt community could use too, so let's
talk about (realistic, inexpensive) ideas and etc that can be pitched at
prospective hardware makers.
