Would AvailWorks do the job as an alternative to NewtonWorks? Others who have
actually used it might like to chime in here...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't feel that NewtonWorks is a real solution.

What makes Notes so powerful and really superior to NewtonWorks is the
fact that I can combine typed text, handwritten text, and sketches
into a single document. Is there some add-on that can enable
NewtonWorks to have this functionality as well?
