I'm sure many here remember when Google introduced there Calendar
service that offered iCal sharing. That was great because Eckhart
Köppen at <http://www.40Hz.org> wrote IC/VC to send and receive
vcards and icalendar (.ics) files. All you had to do was provide IC/
VC with the address to your calendars on Google and it would sync the
events into the Dates application. The only problem was the ics files
Google created could not be read by the newton. Well today I was
surfing around and found a story on Gizmodo saying Google Calendar
now supports CalDAV. <http://gizmodo.com/5029993/google-calendar-now-
supports-caldav-syncs-natively-with-ical-but-not-iphone> While I know
the Newton can't even use CalDAV it did make me wonder if Google
fixed the issues with the .ics format so that they could be loaded
onto the Newton. So I decided to give Google Calendar and IC/VC
another shot. Amazingly enough, it worked. I could download a
calendar from google and all the information was added to the Dates
application. All of the event details are transferred (times to
repeat, location, comments). While this may be a one way transfer,
you at least have the ability to sync your events.
