In preparation in hopefully trading the eMate for a Message Pad, I
decided to replace its battery pack as a selling point. But instead of
going and spending $24 on a new battery, I opted to buy some AA battery
boxes instead. After much modification of its internals, I managed to
get the two boxes inside and now I have a happy little eMate that can
run on its batteries for longer than five minutes.
Has anyone else done this and what sort of success have you come across?
I intend to throw some rechargeables in there, but is it safe to charge
using the built-in charger? I am thinking of throwing some 2400 mAH
batteries in there so its lifespan can be fairly decent.
As well, I also changed the screws from a torx to phillips in the
foresight that I or someone else might want to change the batteries
without having to look for the screwdriver itself.
