Can't believe you guys have the self control to check Ebay only once or twice a day... Depending on my workload, I do an AM and PM scan for Newt goodies, or sometimes every few hours. But I'm taking medications for this obsession, and plan to recover soon... ;>
Also, I bid early on the fanny-pack, but quit at about $25. If I HAD gotten it, I probably woulda been pissed that the logo was not, in fact, embroidered...

So how often do you check Ebay for Newton stuff? Sonny will probably take the cake. My estimate, Sonny checks twice per day ;)

I check everyday myself.

I'm on there all the time as well... :)
Currently searching for a good 130... or a genuine Apple case. Did
you see for how much that fanny pack case sold? It was like $60!

By the way, does the OMP Leather case fits comfortably a MP2X00?

Best,
Carlos

Hi all,
I just came back from unsuccessfully trying to access a WiFi hotspot with my Newt.
What sorts of places have you all managed to get online using your Newts? Josh's story inspired me to try out as many as I can.
What about compling a list of Newton-friendly hotspots everyone's used? I realize a list like this could be vast and cover many countries...

Too ambitious? What do you all think?
       Thanks for your time,
        Scott

The OMP case I have is specifically designed for it. Has metal bar and pin to secure it.
What do you mean by an authentic Apple case?

I was just wondering if an OMP leather case (the one with a newton
logo embossed in the front cover) would fit comfortably a MP2X00.
Perhaps this metal bar could be a problem to fit the MP2X00, right?

here is a photo:

I think it's worth it. I also think it's worth listing Newt browser (and
which browser) friendly sites. I just read somewhere that NPR has an
all-text version of their site, for example.

Hmm. I smell something that should be (1) on a Wiki or (2) in a custom
database with a web front end....

I got an MP2100 from an eBay auction. It came with a PICO card and Blunt
stack pre-loaded. It can discover my phone and Belkin print server*. It
doesn't crash when clicking in the BlueTooth Setup [test] button. I then
tried a previously-purchased PICO cards, and that one works as well. So it
appears that all this time I have had an unbelieveable string of bad luck
getting the Blunt combinations right. Is there a way to determine what
version of stuff I have installed so I can try to replicate the working
setup on my other MPs and eMates?

*The Belkin BT print server F8T031 is discovered as something with a
"Serial" service, but I can't seem to pair for some reason. It's attached to
an HP (non-PS) printer. I wonder if there is a proprietary paring thing
Blunt doesn't support? My Windows Mobile SmartPhone shows with an OBEX
service but the pairing always times out. I need to see if I can get my
Vista box to pair.

This case which was on eBay had the Newton logo on it - appeared to
be Apple branded.
It looked sort of like a fanny pack but turned on its side and with a
shoulder strap. I'm pretty
sure that the logo was silk-screened and not embroidered. I was
bidding on it from the collector's
standpoint but it got a little expensive for me... I think it sold
for $58.

Hi,
Excellent idea - heck, possibly even make it a package for mobile
viewing a la "How do you use your Newton?".

Hahahahaaa!

Now if you asked that a year or more ago I'd have to admit I was :D
But if you asked me who was I'd have to suggest Gilgamesh or Ferdi
(KnowledgeNavigator) aka Newton Sales

I use to run a search and I think there are tools out there to help also...

Are you guys also speaking of the Newton Bag that was a Fanny Pack?
I've got one somewhere and I'd be willing to find it for you if you're
interested in it.
I was silk screened with the Newton logo in Yellow IIRC. Oh wait , you might
be talking about the small square shoulder bag right?
I don't have that one. I might have a MP130 extra on the side to let go
of... maybe..... hehehe

Just wait someone will chime in if they are thinking bout letting go of
theirs too.

Used to check often. I think I had all I needed for the Newton before
ebay. However, Atari stuff is a different story. Man me, Atari, and
ebay have had some FUN times.
