[NTLK] 2100 + Battery Rebuild = Fried Newton

Hello!

So, I got my battery rebuilt for a Newton 2100. I plugged it in for a few hours and all was well, as it was charging. I then unplugged it and tested it a bit. Plugged it back in, then 10 minutes later, I hear a POP! I take the battery out and a smell of something fried came out of the 2100 from the battery bay.

Any idea? I have always used my wall sockets without any problems. Maybe the battery shorted something? The Newton will not boot.

Thanks in advance.

Ryan
